    The Ladd impression was pure win Ark, haha. Your review wants me to get this show even more now! Though I won’t be home to even check if Best Buy has it in stock until like a month from now. Sad i know.

    Excellent review Ark as always, you where spot on about the intruiging plot and the master story telling. I do agree that for some people its shifts of time line may be considered a minor mindfuck and to “exhausting” to follow, but personally it is no it is simple a really entertaining.

    On another note, i did like you new posters, specially the Lain ones, simply gorgeous :D

    This was a fantastic review, Ark! The beginning was awesome, the points you made were spot on, and you included a scene of Isaac & Miria and the comedy they bring to the series. Honestly, while I can’t pick my absolute favorite Baccano! character, those 2 are definitely pretty high up there.

    Absolutly fantastic review.:D I would have liked some lines from Graham, but other than that, simply flawless. From the genius Ladd-imitation in the beginning, to the hillarious hardcore vs softcore ending, this was a work of art.:-) And I love how you put in the question we are all thinking (or at least me): “Where can I get a hat like that.” XD

    Also, thumbs up on the new posters, especially Lain. And is there a small Claymore poster I see? I’ve been watching that series now and really like it.:-) I’m really not looking foreward to the ending though, since I love the manga and hate filler endings.:-(

    Man, can’t wait ’till my Baccano! box-set gets here.:D

    I was a bit surprised, however, that you didn’t bring up any similarities between the intro and the opening sequence from Snatch, seeing as how that’s what it’s based off of.

    Since you asked about the posters, I really didn’t like the yugi-oh one. Since I played the card game along with MTG…..well I could rant and rave all day but I doubt people want to read that.

    @heenato: I picked mine up at a store called lids here in Toronto. Wasn’t as hard to find as I thought it would be.

    @Darkseid: Yes no Graham, nothing Jacuzzi either. There are just TOO many characters. and I wanted to show as little but as much as possible if that makes any sense. Besides Graham needs to STFU.

    @SpacemanHardy: Personally I have never seen Snatch, though I did see a comparison video on Youtube awhile back. *Shrugs* oh well.

    @Michael Flinn: lol the gateway awards are not something for me to give out, that’s JO’s job. Though Personally while alot of people would love Baccano! I can’t really say it would be great as a “First” anime for alot of people. I could be wrong though.

    Ah when Graham Spectre entered, I remember just kinda tilting my head to the side trying to actually understand everything he said, then paused for a while to grasp everything, and when I realized every other word contradicted the other every single time, I laughed my ass off. There are 3 guys who talk like such psychopaths that it makes you laugh. Ladd, Graham, and the 3rd would be major spoiler in how things turn out so I’ll stay quiet on that one, but he meets both Ladd and Graham.

    And my god, at first I hated Isaac and Miria because of their total stupidity, but they grew on me really quickly. I love the last scene, chronologically, with their characters, it’s awesome.

    That vid of Graham was easily the oddest video I saw on anime night. It was really entertaining.

    Great review, Ark. BTW how much coffee did you have before recording this vid? No matter, your high-energy delivery matches with that of Baccano itself, so it makes perfect sense.

    Who _Doesn’t_ love the hat? BTW the new posters are pretty sweet. Was the Haruhi RPG cosplay poster on your door one of your new ones as well? It’s my understanding that’s a hard one to get a hold of, seeing as how it was promo swag for a PS2 Haruhi game that never got an R1 release.

    I kinda thought that Issac and Miria had better japanese voices than english. But I have to admit that Ladd Russo is amazing in the english version. The japanese isn’t bad, but it can’t match english Ladd.

    reference to Rachel not being in the credits, I thought that was to allow for her to be a bit of a fake out to the audience. There’s mention of Claire being on the train, and being a mob assassin. As most people would assume Claire is a girls name would think we’ve seen a girl on the train who’s alone, dressed in fatigues, can fling herself out a window, and scale the side of a train like spiderman. That must be Claire, it’s only later that you seen the events with the conductors and se how wrong that assumption is. At least that was my take on it, I could be totally wrong.

    After browsing through the sludgepool of anime “reviewers” on the web (and seeing the saddened departure of Suede), I’d really grown tired of seeing the medium so brutally masacured.

    It’s with great delight that, after catching a few of your reviews on TGWTG, I know that people really can give anime the justice it deserves. And now that I’ve gotten a glimpse of this website, consider me well impressed. The level of professional critique, variety of genres, and good balance of entertainment definitely makes each GR a lot of fun to watch.

    The only advice that I would offer would be to show a bit more of the anime itself in the review. While your opinions and editing shine like a neon explosion, the limiting amount of clips sort of makes the review aspect feel lacking. Although I’d only advise a SMALL increase of shown footage; only enough to give the audience a taste of what to expect.

    But in all seriousness, your style blows most wanna-be otaku out of the pond. It’s my pleasure to support your brigade and the compilation of greatness that’s been assembeled together.

    I was watching the beginning of this and all like, “I knew it. He’s gone insane. He’s finally snapped. I knew anime had warnings on the back of them about seizures, and what affect it could do to the viewer . . . but he’s actually lost it. . .” *Goes to find anime ASAP*

    Idk what more I can add to this review other than, in your rating terms, I’m a mixture of Hardcore and Softcore fan. Yes, that love looks so much more beautiful of white . . . now where can I get a hat like that? O3O.

    You are my second anime reviewer god, JO beat you because I knew about her before you. I will say that I admire you because you can stay unbiased through the review most of the time while others go off bashing it because it doesn’t fit their exact tastes. I’ve been watching your reviews for months and I have watched most of your reviews, I know what I’m talking about. ^.^

    I love the review, it has many great jokes, and I will be watching this once I finish Vixen’s Okane Ga Ni. ^w^

    Terrific review. I was grinning like an idiot all the way through the Ladd impression at the beginning.

    Just had to chime in and say that I noticed a couple of flaws in the animation when I was first watching this, and I wasn’t really giving it fine-toothed-comb attention… but more than a month later (I got the show around the same time this review was posted) I don’t remember exactly what those flaws were. I *do* remember about a dozen scenes that were simply amazing, so I’m not going to count a couple of glitches against it.

    Nice Review man. XD I take it that your favorite Character in Ladd Russo XD(or at least your character)? Don’t worry, I love the character too. Very funny bit btw.

    I agree with a lot of what you said. I LOVE everything about the show! I especially love the music of the series, such as there isn’t really times where there the music overshadows or underplays the show. Thus there perfect balance (to me, but then again, I enjoy Jazz). If only more people knew about the show.

    Can I suggest yoy review The dissapearance of Haruhi Suzumiya? I see your a fan from the Haruhi poster, and I really loved the dub done by everyone in it, especially Crispin Freeman (which i recall is #2 on your top English VA list)

    Pleaaaase its an awesome movie (just really long and kinda confusing if you havent seen the show)
