If you didn’t like this season that much oh boy oh boy stay away from the second season. More plot focused but…wow that ending lol Hei is almost a completely different character and a child abusing A-hole. The second season made what I thought was an OK first season look like a masterpiece.

Wholly agree to the avoidance of the second season, it was a definite disaster.

Hmm, so you got through Ghost Hound but your complaining this one took forever to reveal stuff? lol
The reason they did 2 episode arcs is so they could have episodes that didn’t focus entirely on Hei. The episodes with the detective Guy for example had Hei as a side character. They wanted to develope the world more as a sort of Heroes-esque people with superpowers world and then explain the plot later on. Really, you don’t need to know what the Syndicate is or what Hei’s past is to enjoy the show. They explain things eventually but DtB is meant to be more of a fun ride then an exciting destination. Kind of how Cowboy Beebop was. How many of the episodes had to do with the plot? Not very many. It was thrown in, and while still good, was not the main focus of the show. It was the ride. You don’t know who all the characters are and why you should care about them right off the back, but you eventually do care (maybe not so much in DtB’s case but still).

Hope this comes off as constructive criticism. Really enjoy all your reviews. :)

CHINESE ELECTRIC BATMAN will get you for this review :D Sry could not resist. Good review. But I enjoyed this show much more than you.
And yes, comparison to batman is very good for Hei.

While I was watching the fragments of the anime, I mean the fragments where contractors’ abilites shown, the word “fullbring” pops out of my mind. Guess what I thought when I saw the mask that main character wears? =) Probably I’ve watched certain anime too much time.
